In other years and possibly other sports, I've previously made an argument like this: if the Rays beat us, I'd rather they won it all to show that we were beaten by the best, rather than that we lost to a team wasn't worthy of the championship. However, it's awful hard not to root against them...
The Patriots tonight were a nice salve anyway.
I should have said I'm rooting for the Phillies because I used to live there and still have the Phillies gene. I remember when they were laughingstocks. I can't get into the Rays. The Red Sox should have beaten them, sniff. Oh well, we have to carry on, sm. Yes, go Pats.

Ah, that's a good reason too. So the Series this year is a battle of the former laughingstocks!
